ZTE Foldable Smartphone? Yes, this is a new foldable smartphone which would soon be for sale for everyone to buy. This is something new and I am personally curious to see how it operates.
When it comes to cell phone innovation, neither the iPhone nor the Android has rolled out anything that could be considered groundbreaking in recent years, unless doing away with the headphone jack counts as groundbreaking.
While both labels consistently tweak and tinker with cellular devices’ various details, nothing in the cell phone industry has burst on the scene, ready to stop traffic and turn heads; nothing with the exception of ZTE’s newest creation the foldable smartphone. Just saying the phrase “foldable smartphone” is enough to conjure incredible images of a phone that is portable and exceeds our wildest wishes.
The foldable device is named Axon M, short for Axon Multy, and it does fulfill the hopes and dreams of many cell phone users.
Considering the potential that the Axon M possesses to be a real game changer in an industry where originality often equals supremacy, one would imagine a more significant degree of fanfare surrounding the release of ZTE’s newest creation.
After speculation and a few leaked images, ZTE announced a mid-October press conference. The event set the stage for ZTE to unveil its latest innovation, the Axon Multy. During the press conference, ZTE representatives announced that advanced orders for the Axon M would begin on the first of November.

ZTE Foldable SmartPhone Release Date
The device is reported to be hitting store shelves on November 17th, just in time for the holiday shopping season.
If there is a drawback to the Axon Multy’s pending arrival, it is that for the foreseeable future the foldable smartphone is exclusive to AT&T in the United States market. It remains to be seen if the Axon M will eventually have a home on other mobile carrier’s networks or if the device will continue to be limited to the AT&T network.
ZTE Foldable Smartphone Price
The company’s history suggests the latter is most likely, but occasionally exclusivity can be the downfall of even the most compelling products. Whatever the case, AT&T plans to offer special financing on the Axon M. reportedly; the device will retail at around $700.00, a veritable bargain when compared to the prices of this seasons’ flagship devices for Apple and Samsung.
During the big reveal, the look of the Axon M received positive reviews from the media. The phone opens and closes on a system similar to the hinge on a conventional laptop. When closed, the Axon M looks to be very similar to any of this year’s newest devices.

It is sleek and lightweight; one minor drawback is that it is presently only available in carbon black. There is no word as to the availability of different colors in the future. Though optional, purchasing the BodyGuardz UltraTough ScreenGuardz to protect the Corning® Gorilla® Glass display is recommended.
The size of the Axon M’s display is a significant selling point. Each of the two screens measures 5.2 inches and has a 1920 x 1080 (426ppi) resolution. The display screens can be used separately for multitasking, or they can be used as a single unit, giving a tablet-sized display in a cell phone size package.
Joining both screens to use in unison is thought to be the reason that ZTE’s latest device will help to make tablets obsolete. Although mobile customers consistently request larger displays, they are categorically opposed to lugging around oversize and cumbersome devices. The dual screen of the Axon M provides the best of both worlds.
There is talk among industry experts that the Axon M has the potential to eclipse the laptop computer for similar reasons. Aside from extending screen size, the dual screens allow multitasking when used separately. It is possible to live stream your favorite sporting event on one screen while answering work e-mails on the other screen.
Detractors question the wisdom of outfitting the Axon M with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 instead of the new Snapdragon 835. While the jury is still out, it stands to reason that the 821 will be more than capable of meeting the needs of Axon M users.
There are no significant issues with the performance of the 821 up to this point, so any problems seem unlikely. The Axon M also features a Quad-core, 4 @ 2.15GHz, 4 GB of RAM, and an internal memory of 64GB which is expandable up to 256 GB.
ZTE outfitted the Axon M with a front facing camera featuring 20 MP with 4x zoom and an aperture of ƒ/1.8. Other features include live video capture and playback at 4k 60fps. While the notion of a single camera that only faces front may seem unusual today, Axon M users claim it simplifies the picture and video taking process.
It is worth mentioning that ZTE added a feature which is quickly fading from the mobile device landscape, the 3.5mm headphone jack. Having the jack as an option does not mean that the speaker quality is subpar. The dual Dolby Atmos audio codecs. AKM 4962 Hifi chipset gives users a superior sound experience.
Once the Axon Multy arrives on shelves, there are sure to be more detailed reviews of the product. As it stands, ZTE may have revolutionized the cell phone industry with the advent of the Axon Multy folding smartphone.
