My Swift 4G Unlimited and Dual Band Router Honest Review (SCAM!)
This is my Swift Unlimited and Dual Band Router Honest Review done under 24 hours of purchasing the new SWIFT Dual Band Router and Unlimited Bundle promo offer.
I bought all that. 40K. Router + Unlimited Bundle.
After successful account activation and setup.
I discovered some problems with the right away.
My Swift 4G Unlimited and Dual Band Router Honest Review
1. Router is Fake, Unknown Brand
Router model: WLTFMA-135GN_4042 LTE Indoor VoIP CPE
Manufacturer: GEMTEK ELECTRONICS (Kun Shan) Co., LTD
Router is fake, an unknown coded brand which would take more than 5 minutes to fully load up i.e when you turn it on it takes more than 5 minutes to search for network which is an eternity for most users. I compared this with the old router which fully booted up in less than a minute.
2. Speed Wise
The new SWIFT DUAL BAND router is slower than the old router Huawei models. I tested this out on both routers.
3. The SWIFT Ultimate Unlimited plan is a SCAM!
So when you buy the package, you get a new sim which apparently has been programmed never to pass 500 kbps download speed.
Upon seeing this, I had take time to sleep first to cool my head. I woke up around 2:50am on June 27th 2018 to run some midnight testing but still found out the speed have been capped at 500 kbps then I decided to top up old sim that I used the SWIFT PROMO Essential Plan on.
Guess what? The download speed was 3mbps and was begging me to download more.
4. I tried Both Routers to Compare
I tried both routers to compare boot up time, realistic speed of each router and the speed of the individual sims. The aim of this was to fully comprehend what was happening and to answer the question – Why is this so slow?
Router A: Swift Dual Band Router (WLTFMA-135GN_4042 LTE Indoor VoIP CPE)
Router B: An unlocked Huawei B310 4G CPE Router
I tried my old sim in the new SWIFT DUAL BAND ROUTER and tried my new sim in my old router.
Results
New router took 5 minutes+ to boot up, slower speed. I got a maximum of 1.9mbps.
Old router booted up in less than a minute that’s pretty fast for a 5 year old router and I got a download speed of 300-400 kbps.
5. Signal Strength
As you can see in the image above, my old router got more network bars than the new swift dual band router and this is very funny because the swift dual band router takes more than 5 minutes to search for network around your area and fully boot up while my old router (Huawei B310) takes less than a minute to do all that and it still comes with more signal strength.
6. Dual Band Technology? (NONE-EXISTENT)
So where is the dual band technology? Honestly, I don’t know and I certainly didn’t see it in action because the main purpose of this new dual band router was to connect to the best Swift 4G internet base station around my area which would automatically give me the best connection speed for surfing the web and downloading.
CONCLUSION
1. THE NEW SWIFT 4G DUAL BAND ROUTER IS FAKE, SLOWER AND DOESN’T WORK.
2. THE NEW SWIFT UNLIMITED SUPREME DATA PLAN IS A SCAM. IT HAS BEEN RIGGED, LAWYERED, DOCTORED AND CAPPED TO GIVE YOU THE BEST FRUSTRATING EXPERIENCE AND HEADACHE YOU CAN EVER GET.
3. It’s certain that the Swift Dual Band Router + Unlimited Supreme is a capped and the router isn’t as fast. My question is “If you subscribe for the standalone 19,000 Swift Unlimited plan, would it still be slow and capped at 300-400kbps download speed?
I think so, Yes!
Now, see the irony of life, I normally spend N8,000 for internet per month and I had rest of mind. The time I decided to spend N40,000 under 24 hours my BP has risen up and there’s no peace of mind.
Once it’s 6am. I’m resuming at SWIFT OFFICE AT SURULERE presenting them the gift of returns and refund.
Please give me back my money, I no do again o abeg!
This is just the Biggest Internet Provider SCAM in 2018.
